Detroit Sounds Of Friction

The group was originally from Detroit, but never recorded anything there. By the time there one and only release was recorded, none of the original members remained. Both sides were recorded in Louisville and used all local musicians and singers for the tracks. Detroit Sounds Of Friction were : Chuck Lewis - Songwriter - (former member of The Moonglows), Buddy Rogers Jarett - Lead Vocals, Johnny Graham - Trumpet - played with Earth , Wind And Fire., William Mc Broom - Bass, Aaron Purdy - Drums, Lyman M Johnson - Trombone, The Robinson Sisters - Strings. Garrett Tilford - Songwriter / Producer - Studied classical music and played flute in the U S Army Orchestra before working with Blue Note artist Bobbi Humphrey in the late 1970' s.
