From artist website: “Passion is knowing what you want and never stopping until you get it. And for me that ‘passion’ is entertaining audiences with my band, The Rob Mostert Hammond Group”. Rob Mostert. Rob Mostert is considered one of the best Hammond B3 musicians in The Netherlands and one of the few purists actually playing the foot bass with his bare feet. After the sensation of recording his debut album with Blue Note legend Rudy Van Gelder (Englewood Cliffs Sessions, 2011), Rob now proudly presents a bigger band and a bigger sound on his new album ‘Go Big Or Go Home’. Two additional vocals and a groovy horn section were added to the standard Hammond trio + vocals and the now 9piece Rob Mostert Hammond Group is playing clubs, theaters and festivals with a steamy mix of soul/jazz and sexy funk with a leading role for the mighty Hammond. In the Memphis Soul tradition of King Curtis, Billy Preston and Booker T & The MG’s their show includes own repertoire as well as all time favorites from the Hammond Song Book. Rob Mostert is the main man, with the virtuose yet soulful way he plays his traditional Hammond B3 and his impressive foot bass solo’s, he owns the stage. He carefully selected a fine group of talented and creative musicians to play with, all with international experience. Chris Strik is the drummer of choice for Amina Figarova he played on her latest album and is touring the world with her. Singer Charlotte Coppola contributes her magnificent and soulful vocals, she toured extensively both with her own band and as a guest vocalist (Gino Vanelli) and guitarist John F. Klaver, acclaimed blues guitarist and winner of the Dutch Blues Challenge. The horn section adds the international zest with Efraim Trujillo (US) on sax, Michael Rðrby on trombone and Michael Simon on trumpet. Nicole Verouden and Tarah Ouwerkerk bring in the backing vocals. Together they make a professional band with proven international potential and a spectacular sound! Or, like the Flemish jazz magazine reviewed: ‘If you want to add fireworks to your festival you have to invite the Rob Mostert Hammond Group’ (JazzMozaik). The album ‘Go Big Or Go Home’ (2013) was released on Harlem Recordings and is available worldwide on import and iTunes.
