Pablo Camacaro

Vanguardist of folk music on his fatherland, Venezuela, the master Pablo Ramón Camacaro is an outstanding cuatro player, arranger, composer and choir director. Camacaro was born in Carora, Lara state on May 2nd, 1947, his first musical lessons were received from his own father, Pablo Lameda when he was six years old. His musical formation is self-taught, even Camacaro made his own cifrated musical method for teaching to music begginers. Camacaro founded his own group Óptimus while he was living at Trujillo state paralelly he was director and arranger of Laudelino Mejías' Concerts Band; later he join to Raíces de Venezuela Group as composer, arranger and cuatro player. The Camacaro's proposal cover a very wide range of venezuelan folk music, since Danza Zuliana, valses, bambuco, caraqueño's merengue; incorporating bossa nova harmonies to his compositions.
