Dada Action Group

Group initiated by Jim Banner around 1989 to enact Dada. The first action was at Seattle's Apple Theater where Tim Cridland was a projectionist. After that, Kim Sheridan created a series of ready-mades which she presented in her public showings. Various artists at the Kalberer Hotel Supply building (Incubator) prepared paint works which were circulated as record covers for singles. Generally the group was Seattle based, but mail-art network members were also inducted, such as Swiss Rudolv Eb.er. A series of audio recordings were hoped for release in 1990s, only one of which came out, although some material later appeared through associated labels of members. Banner's personal interest was in historic Dada which he shared through online content channels. In the 2000s Banner opened more international audio collaborations of DAG where he engineered or contributed to new mixes of recordings.
