Tritha

Kolkata-born Tritha, a classically trained yet very punk singer, and independent music entrepreneur recently was seen doing the serene and energizing opening performances at ACT 2014-Kolkata Chapter. Other speakers in this event include business head – KUMARMANGALAM BIRLA, Bollywood Film director RAKESH OMPRAKASH MEHRA (Rang De Basanti), King of Good Times – VIJAY MALLYA (UB group), Writer VIKRAM SETH, Miss Universe SUSMITA SEN & Bollywood actor ABHISHEK BACCHAN and Pakistan cricket personality IMRAN KHAN. In early 2013, Tritha had been a speaker at the Tedx Delhi organised by KPMG group, where she got a standing ovation for her speech and songs about the New Indian Woman’s Voice and relevance on the global front today. This was followed by performances and collaborations with Sivamani for the spiritual community in Rishikesh, Mallika Sarabhai at the Vikram Sarabhai Festival and most recently Eve Ensler, the founder of ONE Billion Rising against violence on women in Dharamshala. Tritha had done a three-month summer tour in Europe in 2013, which saw her perform no less than 35 concerts in cities like PARIS, BERLIN, and several other culturally vibrant cities in ITALY and Europe. She represented INDIA at the Asia Music Festival 2013 in Miri, Malaysia in September, enthralling the audience there. This was followed by a 10 city INDIA tour in Oct-Nov 2013, where Tritha was promoting independently her debut album “PaGLI” – a story of the Indian woman from traditions to modernity. An Indian powerful feminine voice from Classical to Punk. Tritha’s debut album PaGLi, recorded in France, India and Italy and mixed by award winning producer Miti Adhikari (BBC Radio Engineer- Recording History with Radiohead, Nirvana, FooFighters, Menwhopause, Skavengers, Tasher Desh) has won critical acclaim abroad and will be released in India this month.
