French chanteuse Marianne Dissard lived for two decades in Tucson, Arizona before finding a home in the UK in 2017. Her albums of baroque desert noir Americana were composed by Joey Burns (Calexico), Sergio Mendoza, Naïm Amor, and Christian Ravaglioli. She toured her music worldwide with members from Calexico, Orkesta Mendoza, and Giant Sand as well as with Allyson Ezell and Yan Péchin, Brian Lopez and Gabriel Sullivan (Xixa (2)), Budo, Arthur Vint. She has recorded duets with Raphael Mann, The Inspector Cluzo, Sammy Decoster, Lunatraktors, and Arno. Her lyrics in French and English have been sung by Howe Gelb and Amor Belhom Duo. Director of music videos and documentaries (Lonesome Cowgirls, Drunken Bees, Post No Bills, Low y Cool and Celtic Traveler), she documented her hometown of Tucson through films on Giant Sand, lowrider bike clubs, and Warhol's cowboys. Dissard produced the second album by French artist (Orso Jesenska). Her first book, Not Me, a memoir, was published in 2019 and adapted to the stage. Her first album of covers, Rappel*le, released in 2023, was produced with Raphael Mann. Starting in 2020, her street photography has been exhibited in solo gallery shows and installations in Paris, Ramsgate, and Glasgow, and made into photobooks and limited-edition prints.
