Italian operatic tenor. Born 12 May 1882 in Rome, Italy. Died 11 May 1963 in Neptune City, New Jersey, USA. Ciccolini made his debut as 'Alfredo' in Traviata in 1907. He was a student of famed teacher Antonio Cotogni. Thomas Edison recorded Ciccolini as one of his famed Italian Tenors series on cylinders and diamond discs. Ciccolini had a ticket to sail on the "RMS Titanic" but missed the sailing due to a opera performance scheduling change. He sang in America and Italy, sailing back and forth as opera season demanded. He was the principal tenor of the Boston Opera Company during the 1914 season. Among the Edison recordings are "Vesti la Giubba" (I Pagliacci), "Fra Poco a me Ricovero" (Lucia di Lammermoor) and "O Solo Mio."
