Zaidee Jackson

American-born jazz, spiritual and pop music singer, dancer and actress who was well known in France, United Kingdom and Romania. Only her first 78, recorded for Pathé Actuelle in 1926, is included in "Blues and gospel records 1890-1943" (Oxford University Press, 1997) which has a note: "This singer's later recordings, made in Europe, are of cabaret vocals or of spirituals performed in the European musical tradition. Some of the former are included in Jazz Records 1897-1942 for their accompaniments by local jazz musicians." (p. 434)
