Japanese orchestra arranger and conductor for his Leon Pops Orchestra, King Symphoniette, Tokyo City Pop Orchestra. Born in Tokyo, graduated from Tohoku University Law and Literature Department. In arranging the string-oriented orchestra he is regarded as the foremost figure in Japan. In 1954, he became arranger and conductor of King Records' Leon Pops Orchestra, released nearly 200 albums, and many also became best sellers. Many albums are released from other companies as well. In 1954, when enacting the new copyright law, he worked as an arranging expert. He will serve as the judging committee for Arrangement of Japanese Music Association of Japan until 2001. In recent years he is publishing a string quartet music score of "Melodie of Japan" as his life work.
