Kontrabass & Violone. 2010 - 2012 Megan Adie (bass), resides in San Francisco after a decade of living and playing 17th and 18th century double bass in Europe (Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Concerto Copenhagen, and La Chambre Philharmonique; Copenhagen Phil and Malmö Opera; and various chamber groups in Denmark and southern Sweden.) A key member of the Crooked Jades evolution, touring and recording with the Jades for several years, Megan’s iconic (arco) bass can be heard on the band’s acclaimed album “Worlds on Fire.” Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, University of California, Santa Barbara. Studio Art and Book Arts. 2000 - 2003 Full Time Faculty and Printmaking Studio Manager at the Academy of Art University. Also part of the Aviary Players an international group of chamber musicians currently based in San Francisco. Founded by bass player Megan Adie, with violinists Monika Gruber and Akiko Kojima, the Players’ repertoire spans four centuries, brought to life with both passion and historically informed perspectives..
