American rock guitarist. He is also a professor of history at the University of California, Irvine. In 2008 he published the book "Heavy Metal Islam: Rock, Resistance, and the Struggle for the Soul of Islam". The last years he has traveled around the Middle East and plaid with the main revolutionary artist of the Arab Spring in countries like Egypt, Tunisia and Lebanon.
