He was an arranger for singers and orchestras, then a conductor for radio and television, recordings and films. Joined ASCAP in 1957. He specialized in mood music and arranged the original mood music albums for Jackie Gleason and numerous film and television scores including "South Pacific". Not to be confused with UK saxophonist Peter King (2) (born 1940).
