Finnish singer. Born in 1960. Lead singer and songwriter in two of the greatest experimental punk bands from the 80's, Hassisen Kone and Sielun Veljet. One of the most powerful figures in modern Finnish music, his contribution is second to none. Very capable guitarist and occasional multi-instrumentalist and cutting edge stage performer of thespian Bowie/Lindsay Kemp level versatility- his influence could be overwhelming in terms of the success of his contributions to pushing back the boundaries in music. Later ventures like Ismo Alanko Säätiö and their phenomenal output continued the exposition of his genius. If the Finnish nature was more extrovert he would be a rock god in the country so all-pervasive is his appeal in many media. His solo work and resultant albums reflect equally consistent creativity and well-rounded songwriting success from 1990's Kun Suomi Putos Pusta (when Finland fell from the tree) right up to the present day. The level of accomplishment throughout his career is exceptional and the renaissance level of commitment to achievement is remarkable.
