Yakov Chmelev

Yakov Chmelev (born October 22, 1877 - died August 28, 1944) - Russian, Soviet choir conductor, regent and composer. He received his initial education at home, special, then studied at the Moscow Choral Society, and from September 1906 to May 1910 he studied musical subjects at the Moscow Synodal School of Choral Singing. He attended the Synodal School of Church Singing as a paid volunteer, and on January 10 and 29, 1913, he passed the exam for the title of regent of a private choir. Later, Yakov Aleksandrovich led the choir at the Trinity Church on the Gryazy at the Pokrovsky Gates and at the Kazan Church at the Kaluga Gates.
