DJ Zarine

ZARINE aka DJ PTITZYN / NIR 300 (Sergey Ptitzyn) - DJ & musician from St. Petersburg, Russia. Was born on 1st of January, 1974. Being a guitar player, he began his music career in the late 80s - playing rock music in the styles of Trash, Death Metal (AGONY band). In '90-'91 he already had a rather tight rehearsal and touring schedule. He studied in the "Conducting and managing an orchestra" class at the musical institution. In 1994 he started his career as a sound engineer in the clubs of St. Petersburg. Working first with rock musicians, he immersed himself in the world of electronic dance music. Working at the historic event RAVE MONTAZH (RAVE МОНТАЖ) he decided to combine live sound with “synthetics”. The last grain of sand on the scales of doubts fell on the work with the Swiss band The Young Gods. This was followed by a departure to a cult club CLEO. Meeting new people there inspired him on to work on new material, search for new sound, alternative style for the electronic scene. This is how ZARINE project appeared in 1996. Vinyl and samplers replaced a guitar. The years of DRUM'n'BASS sound began. Being at the forefront of the new movement PTITZYN (ZARINE) worked with such performers as: Aphrodite, Goldie, DJ SS, Technical Itch, Bes, DJ Boomer (2), Gvozd, Liza.K, D.E.V.I.L..
