Lee Stoneking

Born: April 15, 1907 Death: December 30, 1989, Lowry City, St. Clair Co, MO Mr. Stoneking spent most of his life in the rural Clinton and rural Blairstown areas as a farmer. After the death of his wife, Ruby Ruth Akers Stoneking, he married Thelma Berdina Chandler, and thereafter they made their home in Lowry City. Born Lee Roy Stoneking, the son of Frank Burgess and Mary Ellen Stewart Stoneking, and one of 11 children, he grew up loving music and was known to all as one of the best old time fiddlers around, often donating his services for various benefit shows and for the entertainment of the sick and shut-ins. Mr. Stoneking was the father of 10 children and step-father to three children.
