Agonal means struggle in greek (agon) and the word agonal is often associated with pain related with death. Agonal was brought to life in the winter of 2010 by Kentuckian Jon Francis. The original goal of the project was to create three albums with a different theme and style each time. The project ended in 2013 with the completion of the trilogy released by Sacntus Gladius Records. After the end of the initial project and the departure form the label, the songwriting continued. An another and last album was released in january 2016. On this last album, the Finnish singer/songwriter Ville Hämäläinen added his signature sound to the band.
