American singer (born April 29, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, Died April 17, 2023). Older sister of Nino Tempo. She charted with her brother as a singing duo 17 times on the U.S. charts. She charted twice as a solo artist including "Teach Me Tiger" (written by her brother Nino) which was banned in many areas for its suggestive lyrics and "Wake Up and Love Me" (written by her and her brother Nino and Jeff Barry). April was also a songwriter--charting 3 times with songs she wrote--including #41 in the U.K. with "A Woman's Story" by Marc Almond in 1986 (Phil Spector co-written with brother Nino and Phil Spector).
