Soultime

We are Soultime, an eccentric jazz trio composed of Jean-Patrick Cosset (hammond organ and keyboards), Guillaume Julien, (guitars) and Patrick Jouannic (drums). For 13 years now, we have been performing every month at Ty Anna Tavarn, as well as numerous clubs and festivals around France and have also recorded a live album in 2012. This year, we got down to business and recorded an album in the studio ! After working for a year on the production of 12 compositions, we recorded in the studio last fall under the musical direction of New York City producer Timothy Bright. Each member of the group contributed his own compositions giving the whole album a very eclectic feel. Introducing new sounds such as fender rhodes, Moog synths, melodica, and percussion, it will take listeners on a music journey through different genres from west-coast jazz-funk, pop ballads, Irish waltz, old-fashioned standards, calypso dub, Louisiana funk, etc! Producer Timothy Bright helped in the direction of finalizing the compositions before going into recording studio. Last October, he traveled to Nantes to take control of the soundboard and recorded our 12 tracks in 10 days at Studio Corner Box. He returned home to Brooklyn, NY to mix the album in his own studio Sixty Cycle Music. Timothy has entrusted the mastering of the album to Masterdisk Studio, whose credits include Herbie Hancock, Maceo Parker, Steely Dan, Sting etc. Super exciting !
