Tibor Kasics

Hungarian composer, born 28 December 1904 in Budapest, Hungary, died 3 July 1986 in Zurich, Switzerland. Son of Ilona Durigo and Ozman Kasics. In 1919 he moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where he studied at the conservatory. Later he studied in Vienna and Berlin and accompanied his mother on the piano at concerts throughout Europe. In 1929 he founded together with Werner Finck the political cabaret "Die Katakombe". In 1932 he came back to Zurich, Switzerland, 1934 he became member of the Cabaret Cornichon for several years, later he worked as a conductor for the theaters in Zurich, Bern and Basel. From 1956 until 1984 worked with the Swiss Radio and TV as a pianist, composer and bandleader.
