Algirdas Motieka

Lithuanian shellac record collector, who assembled biggest in the world collection of pre-WWII Lithuanian shellac records, which later he transferred to national library, part while alive, another part by testament after death. Born 1936, died 2017 September 12th. Series of compilation cassettes from his collection as well as some CDs and LPs prepared from his collection were not digitized electrically (the proper way) but acoustically using Motieka's own gramophone, because he didn't trust anyone else with handling his collection and only allowed to record the records that he played himself on his own machine.
