Dark Star (17)

US heavy space rock band active in the 2nd half of 70s. Formed in 1976 in Houston's Jacinto City suburb by Thomas Lee Howell aka Tom "Major" Lazer (guitar/lead vocals), Bill "The Android" Fisher (bass), Bobby "The Wizard" Parker (lead guitar) and James "Stix" Bowen (drums). In 1977 they released their only single. 1.000 copies were pressed, mostly distributed "door-to-door". Despite the name their music has no connection with The Grateful Dead. Disbanded in 1979.
