Åsa Winzell

Swedish audio technician specialized in mastering, born on October 7, 1971. She used to work at Polar Studios, Stockholm. She graduated in 2006 from the audiologist program at the University of Gothenburg and has since worked clinically as a physician. audiologist within Hearing Services, Västra Götaland region. The duties consist of diagnosing and rehabilitating hearing loss in adults at Mölndal Hospital. Since the spring of 2020, Åsa has started her doctoral work, the purpose of which is to investigate the hearing health of the oldest old. The project includes investigating the hearing ability of a large number of people between 88 and 90 and 95 years old in the Gothenburg area, validating an objective hearing test for this group and investigating the interaction between hearing and cognitive impairment in old age. Since 2007, Åsa has participated in courses focused on audiological diagnostics at the audiology program at the University of Gothenburg. In 2016, Åsa completed her Master's thesis with a focus on Reference Values ​​in Audiological diagnostics and also participates in a working group that works to produce updated guidelines for audiological diagnostics in Sweden. The main interests are audiological diagnostics and rehabilitation with a focus on the oldest elderly and the audiologist's work to promote the hearing health of this patient group.
