Dugentodumila

Dugentodumila è un progetto che nasce ufficialmente nell'alta valle del Tevere il 2 gennaio del 2000, data da cui il gruppo prende il nome, per concretizzare la passione comune dei cinque suoi componenti. Le radici della loro attività musicale risalgono in realtà alla metà degli anni novanta, periodo in cui l'Italia vide un grande fermento del movimento hiphop "giovanile". Proprio a cavallo di tale periodo furono realizzati due demo, "Naintinnaintinnain" e "Minuscoli", per mano di due dei futuri componenti (all'epoca sotto il nome "Scatolame"). La crescita personale, sia culturale che artistica, portò in seguito la necessità di affrontare tematiche di spessore più elevato, distaccandosi poco a poco dagli stereotipi del movimento hiphop underground italiano, sino ad una totale divergenza di contenuto ed espressione. I primi due anni di vita della formazione completa del gruppo furono spesi tra concerti ed attività in studio, lavoro che portò alla realizzazione del cd autoprodotto "fumo&incenso" (settembre 2003). L'uscita del disco fu accompagnata da una presentazione molto particolare presso il teatro comunale di Anghiari (AR), evento organizzato dall'associazione culturale locale MEA RAEVOLUTIONAE, e che vide una felice partecipazione di pubblico. Successivamente i Dugentodumila si sono impegnati nella promozione del loro lavoro attraverso attività dal vivo presso locali e festival (tra gli altri Meeting Etichette Indipendenti di Faenza, Rock Contest Toscana, Arezzo Wave..). Il gruppo è stato anche invitato a partecipare alla compilation promozionale di Arezzo Wave "Magic Bus 2004", oltre che a varie raccolte relative al circuito hiphop italiano. Dugentodumila is a project that was officially born in the upper Tiber valley on 2 January 2000, the date from which the group takes its name, to realize the common passion of its five components. The roots of their musical activity actually date back to the mid-nineties, a period in which Italy saw a great ferment of the "youth" hiphop movement. Just at the turn of that period two demos were made, "Naintinnaintinnain" and "Minuscoli", by the hand of two of the future members (at the time under the name "Scatolame"). Personal growth, both culturally and artistically, subsequently led to the need to tackle higher issues, gradually detaching from the stereotypes of the Italian underground hiphop movement, up to a total divergence of content and expression. The first two years of the group's complete training were spent between concerts and studio activities, work that led to the creation of the self-produced "smoke & incense" (September 2003). The release of the disc was accompanied by a very particular presentation at the municipal theater of Anghiari (AR), an event organized by the local cultural association MEA RAEVOLUTIONAE, and which saw a happy audience participation. Subsequently, the Dugentodumila engaged in the promotion of their work through live activities at clubs and festivals (among other Independent Label Meeting of Faenza, Rock Contest Tuscany, Arezzo Wave ..). The group was also invited to participate in the promotional wave compilation of Arezzo "Magic Bus 2004", as well as various collections relating to the Italian hiphop circuit.
