Welsh vocal group. Their name translates as 'The Blackboard Boys' in English. The original members met at a Teachers' Summer School at Trinity College, Carmarthen in 1958. They won the premier award at the Llanelly National Eisteddfod in 1962. They are primarily a penillion singing group (or Cerdd Dant = String Music), which is vocal improvisation over a given melody in Welsh musical tradition, but they also did folk and contemporary songs.
