Gilbert S. Watson

American songwriter of the 1950s. One of his best-known songs was "Don't Grieve, Don't Sorrow Don't Cry" (1951). Others include "I Was A Fool" (1952), "Diggin' For Old Black Coal" (1957), and "Gigolette" (1959). Watson also wrote campaign songs like "We're madly for Adlai" (i.e., Democratic candidate Adlai S. Stevenson) (1956) and "Go Vote Nixon - Lodge" (1960).
