Jeff Burns (4)

Canadian record company executive (born 1950). Started at A&A Records retail chain as a teenager in 1968. In January 1973 MCA Records (Canada) hired him as promotion manager for Ontario. In May 1974 he moved to GRT Of Canada Ltd. as A&R Manager, eventually becoming Vice President of A&R. In 1979 he moved to CBS Records Canada Ltd. as Vice President of A&R. Burns left CBS in 1989 and in January 1990 founded the label Justin Entertainment Inc. which changed names in 1992 to Burns Entertainment Inc. (aka BEI). In 1993 he founded Burns Consulting Inc. In 1995 he founded Pelican Records International Corp. with partner Joe Dinardo but it was short-lived and by end of 1996 Burns founded a new company/label, Shoreline Records Inc. and in 1997 founded Alien Records Inc.
