Charlie McPhee

New Zealand artist known as the "Velvet Gauguin" for his paintings on velvet of scenes in the South Pacific. His most famous series was the Tahitian Girl, for which his wife Elizabeth, a Tahitian, was his model. Born 1910, died November 2002.
