Charita Thomas

American vocalist originally from Wayne, a town on the outskirts of Philadelphia, PA. Charita Thomas came over to London, UK in 1978, worked as stage manager for a gospel musical called "Little Willies Junior Resurrection". When the show finished after a two month run, she decided to stay in England to write songs. Charita Thomas had a vast experience of music from an early age. After singing in the gospel choir in her native Philadelphia, she left school to earn a living as a session singer including - just prior to arriving in England - working with George Clinton's Brides Of Funkenstein. When the "Little Willies Junior Resurrection" show ended, Charita Thomas met Linda Taylor and sang with Ray Shell in the band Ray Shell and the Street Angels and continued as Street Angels (2) without Ray Shell. She opend a restaurant in 2001 in Brighton, UK called Momma Cherri's.
