Об исполнителе:
Pianist and composer. Born c.1938. Died Aug 6, 1983. His name is pronounced SHEE-MAY. He won an Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts program when he was eight years old. He was hailed at a young age as a child prodigy and appeared on radio and TV, playing with symphony orchestras. He was taught by Edward Weiss, the famed pupil of Busoni. He was called "rather self‐indulgent, emotional pianist, who likes sharp contrasts and much rubato" when he was a young player in 1964 but seven years later said he "has made significant progress, producing a mellow, quite lovely keyboard tone". He recorded for Columbia’s subsidiary Epic label. He issued a Gershwin album in 1959 but a car accident damaged his hands in the 1960's. He continued to play but in a diminished capacity.
