Igor Chichagov

Igor Chichagov (1924-2018) was a Russian, later American, accompanist and conductor. He was particularly active in the Baltimore, Maryland, region and associated with Rosa Ponselle as her accompanist in the 1950s-1970s. He was introduced to Baltimore concert audiences in 1952 as follows: Igor Chichagov, a graduate of the Conservatory of Danzig, Germany, is the conductor. At present, Mr. Chichagov is director of St. Andrew's Russian Orthodox Church choir in Baltimore. (The Baltimore Sun, January 20, 1952, p. 28.)
