Grupo La Libertad

Mexican Salsa group. In 1974 Mr. Armando Gallegos undertook the task of forming a Salsa group, a style little known in Mexico and that is when "La Libertad" emerged, a group made up of young Mexicans whose ages ranged from 17 to 24 years old. The continuous effort, discipline and study agreed upon since its foundation by the director and the members for an excellent teamwork, began to bear fruit, since, six months after its creation, the group "La Libertad" debuted on the 20th. April 1975, in the events room of the "Náder" sports center, being accepted with great pleasure by the public who regularly attended this and other dance halls. In 1976 he recorded his first album under the label's signature, "Fania Records", managing to become the first Mexican musical group dedicated to this genre, which recorded for this international record company. The musical quality that distinguished "La Libertad" gave them the key so that in that same year, internationally famous singers such as Celia Cruz, Ismael Miranda, Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Quintana, Roberto Torres, to name a few, requested "Fania Records" that in their presentations in Mexico, were accompanied by the group "La Libertad" In 1978, they recorded their second album for the M.R. Records, dependent on "Fania" records, in this production most of the arrangements were made by Mr. Jorge Millet, Puerto Rican pianist, who at that time was Mr. Ismael Miranda's arranger and musical director.
