Howard Ravitsky attended Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, PA from 1953 to 1956. He, along with his brother Al Ravitsky and friend Gil Lipschitz created the Lash (see Lash (2)) record label. He is the credited composer on "Hey Cleo" which was the A side of the Hey Cleo / Since I Lost You release by Tony Darro. With Phil Hurtt he co-composed "I'm Happy Without You" which was recorded by Ann Byers and released on the Academy (see Academy (2)) label in the mid 1960s. With Hurtt he is also the credited co-composer of two other songs recorded by Ann Byers, "Your Love Is A Wonderful Thing" and " I'm Not Gonna Cry Baby". Hiis publishing was listed as HOW MUSIC clo Howard Ravitsky, 6855 Sylvester St, Philadelphia in The Musician's Guide The Directory of the World of Music · Volume 1957 - By Marquis Who's Who, LLC · 1980. On November 14, 2010 he was a special guest of Gerri Bender on WRDV-FM. He was also associated with RAHOW Music from 2012 to 2013. A compilation of artists from his label, The Best Of Lash Records - Rare R&B & Soul Productions 1961-1975 was issued in 2009.
