Hamp Swain (born 3 Dec 1929, in Macon, Georgia, USA; died 9 May 2018, age 88, in Macon, Georgia), nicknamed "King Bee" (after Slim Harpo's "I'm a King Bee"), was the first Black disc jockey in Macon, Georgia, starting at WBML AM 1350 in 1954 before moving to WIBB AM 1280 three years later. He has been credited with discovering several talents, including Otis Redding, and had a long and successful career in broadcasting as well as insurance and automobile sales. Swain was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and was an active member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon.
