Born on December 4, 1947 at Caguas, Puerto Rico. Rosita sadly passed away on May 30, 2009. A song can change the life of any artist and even the name. That happened to the singer and dancer Rosita Rodríguez, known by the Puerto Rican and Latino public of New York as "Alfileritos", after her memorable interpretation of the song by Mario de Jesús in the late 1960s. The also comedian was born in Caguas and at six years of age moved to New York, where he did his primary and secondary studies, the latter in the famous American Academy of Dramatic Arts of New York. At age 16, he returned to Puerto Rico, where he began his artistic career at the age of 17 with the song "Qué suerte". In 1967 he recorded the theme that becomes his artistic nickname. A year later she released her first LP "El Bellino" and debuted as an actress in the movie "The Revenge of Gabino Barrera" with Miguel Angel Alvarez and Chucho Avellanet. At the same time, he traveled to Mexico, where he worked with artists such as Marco Antonio Muñiz, Libertad Lamarque, Lucha Villa and Los Panchos in different presentations. At the dawn of the 1970s he had a television spot on the "Show of noon" on Channel 4. He later represented Puerto Rico with the song "Cuando Volras" by Edwin Oliver at the Festival of Voice and Song of Ibagüé, Colombia being victorious. In the 1980s, the Institute of Culture of New York awarded her with the "Most Popular Singer of the Year" award. Later, after a while withdrawn from the world of the show he presented his album "Yo soy Candela", which confronted problems with the distribution. In 1989 Rodriguez stood out as one of the most active comedians participating in spaces such as "The show of 12", "Court of honor", "The Pension of Doña Tere" and "Fantastic". In the late 1980s Rosita's scenic fieryness turned her into a model of artistic imitation, most notably that of actress Sharon Riley in the show "Multiple Ellas II: Magic." Health problems, caused by her condition of rheumatic arthritis, kept her from the artistic environment she loved so much. In 1997, she reappeared briefly to work as a producer in the staging of "Qué bonito luce todo en mi Navidad". On the night of Saturday, May 30, 2009, while watching television, Rosita Rodríguez died quietly as a result of a renal arrest and its consequent cardiac complications.
