The Parliaments (2)

Об исполнителе:
The Parliaments were formed by Little Archie and William Banks (died 2011 age 74) in Huntington, West Virginia, USA and totally un-aware of the existence of a group with the same name (The Parliaments fronted by George Clinton) from New Jersey, who were recording up in Detroit. The conflict with the name eventually came to a head, a judge found in their favour and The Parliaments changed their name to Funkadelic on Westbound Records and Parliament on Invictus. Even though this group kept the name, they never saw the same success as the other band. This group recorded two 45s on Cabell Records including the uptempo classic 'This Is My Rainy Day', one on the Symbol Records (2) label, produced by Juggy Murry and one on their own Unpredictable (3) label. After trying hard to get a hit with little success the group broke up. Little Archie went on to record in his own right on Dial records. Most of the band stayed around the Huntington area. In their short time together they created some classic soul sides and were much admired as an on-stage group.
