Peter "Cäsar" Gläser (born January 7th, 1949 in Leipzig, Germany - died October 23rd, 2008 in Leipzig, Germany) was a German musician. In 1966 Peter was discovered by Klaus Renft (Klaus Renft Combo). Until prohibition of "Klaus Renft Combo" in 1975, he was guitarist and vocalist in this band. In 1976 Peter, Jochen Hohl and the band "Fusion" founded Karussell. "Karussell" tried to continue the tradition of "Klaus Renft Combo" but failed. In 1983 Peter left "Karussell" because of self-censorship. The same year he formed his first own band - "Cäsars Rockband". As a result of many problems with GDR Government (forthcoming albums and concerts were cancelled) he broke up with his band in 1986. In 1988 foundation of "Cäsar & Die Spieler". Because of lyrics which were critical of the system, he was expatriated from the GDR in 1989. In 1991 he formed "Cäsar & Band" which was renamed as "Cäsar Trio" in 1993. In 1997 new foundation of "Cäsar & Die Spieler". In 2006 release of his audiobook "Cäsar erzählt". Publication of his autobiography "Cäsar - Wer die Rose ehrt" in march 2007.
