Junior Deep is one half of Sao Paulo, Brazil based Drumagick along with brother Guilherme Lopes. They perform as a live band or as 4 deck-djs as well as being prolific music producers. They were instrumental in developing the Brazilian Drum ’n’ Bass scene, introducing Europe to the Brazilian electronic music scene, like techno and house music. Despite many producers and labels trying to reproduce Brazilian Drum ’n’ Bass since the 90’s, Drumagick are quite simply the real deal – re-inventing and fashioning global music with their own genuine Latin take on the genre. In the 90’s, Junior Deep got his first computer. It took around three years of work broadcasting their music on pirate radio in Sao Paulo before the brothers developed their unique sound, mixing their Brazilian identity with electronic music and in 1997, the Drumagick project was created. Live tours in South America ensued and exposed Drum 'n' Bass to the masses in Brazil and inspired Latin America's youth... Then came ‘Easyboom’. An instant classic from first hearing, it was included on BBC6 DJ Gilles Peterson's Worldwide compilation and reached No. 3 in the BBC Radio 1 All Winners chart in 2003. Three tracks on the classic film “City Of God” and a rework of Mitchell & Dewbury's 'Beyond the Rains' followed. Projects with Brazilian legends along with tours & acclaimed record releases globally have come thick & fast ensuring that Drumagick have become one of the definitive exponents of Nu Samba. The exciting partnership of Drumagick with Audio Network has inspired the brothers to take their authentic sound from the clubs of Brazil to the global world of Media & film production.
