American guitarist, singer and songwriter. Born Ada, Oklahoma. Geary took up the guitar when he was eighteen and a student at Oklahoma's East Central University. After college, he was drafted into the Marines, continuing to play in bands on the weekends. He moved out to California in 1971. His band became the house band at the Longhorn Saloon in Canoga Park, California. They served as a backup band for Freddy Fender, Eddie Raven, Sylvia, Barbi Benton and others. Hanley was voted on of the top 5 guitar players by the Academy of Country Music.
