Z Toyz

Hard rock/heavy metal band hailing from the Miami, FL area. Forming in 1979 (and originally named Toyz), the band released a single, "Rock N Roll Love Affair" with the B-side being "Learn to Survive". They split soon after, but reformed in 1982. They gained some attention when the video for their song, "Miami Breakdown" made it to the finals of the MTV Basement Tapes Contest that was held in the '80s. They ended up being the winners. They then relocated to New York, where they were secured an album deal. They recorded a full-length album entitled "The Lonely Ones", which wasn't released for years, due to the record company going out of business. An interesting thing to note is that Twisted Sister lead singer, Dee Snider, who was a supporter of the band, covered one of their songs, "The Lonely Ones", on his Widowmaker album.
