Rotterdam, April 12, 1923 – Den Haag, February 8, 2011. Dutch violin player, composer, producer, painter, writer, poet and music teacher. In the Second World War she was active in the Dutch resistance against the German occupiers. Eventually, she was arrested and deported from one concentration camp to the other, ending up in Auschwitz. There she played the violin the camp orchestra. By doing so she survived the war, but her fragile health situation forced her to give up playing the violin in 1953. She continued composing music and introduced the panpipes in classical music. She build her own panpipes, developed a teaching method, started a music school and made recordings with Romanian musicians. Besides in music, she was being active in many other forms of art and even developed a method to cure RSI-related problems.
