Clint Allen

Clint is a graduate of Queensland University of Technology's Academy of the Arts where he studied trumpet under Phil Ryan, and a Masters degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music where his research focused on crossover music (Dissertation, Crossover Trends: The Nexus between the Third Stream Movement and Contemporary Music). Clint has backed prominent artists including Don Burrows, Julie Anthony, James Morrison, Chrissy Amphlett, Tina Arena, Natalie Cole, Anthony Calea, Mark Diesel, Leo Sayer, Rick Price, Christine Anu and John Waters, and has travelled with various ensembles both nationally and internationally. Recently, he has performed and toured with BUZZ, a brass quartet formed by Musica Viva to educate young children around Australia and develop music programs in primary schools in both city and rural areas along the east coast of Australia. Clint is currently the director of the UQ Big Band (at the University of Queensland), and is a published author about contemporary music with articles published in RealTime Arts Journal (Sydney, Australia).
