Peter Knopp

Swedish photographer. Peter Knopp was born 1943 in Berlin, but grew up in Vienna, Austria. In the early 60s he arrived in Sweden and first tried his luck as a rather unsuccessful street musician. After joining photography training, he soon found himself working for Bildjournalen, the most important Swedish teen magazine at the time, and doing freelance work before being discovered in 1969 by Aftonbladet, Sweden's second largest evening paper. That job gave him the chance to travel around the world and his pictures had given him a number of prestigious photo awards at the time he passed away in Stockholm at the age of 60.
