Manuel Enrique Pérez Díaz was born in Puerto Cabello, Edo. Carabobo, July 6, 1911. He married in 1940 with the film, theater and TV actress of Chilean origin, who lived in Venezuela from 1952 until his death, Amalia Muñoz Davagnino (1923-2003), artistically known as Amalia Pérez Díaz, and the liaison had 3 children: Amalia, Carlos and Manuel Antonio. With guitarists Antonio Lauro (1917-86), Eduardo Serrano (1911-2008) and Marco Tulio Maristaniy (1916-2008) he formed Los Cantores del Trópico, and toured Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. He taught at the School of Music and Declamation, teaching classical guitar. Composer of numerous songs, among which, Ahnelos (Venezuelan Valse), In the black foam (Serenade), The word love (Serenade), Llanto, Serenata and Serenata pueblerina, guasas, merengues, among others. Guitarist, composer and musician-teacher Manuel Enrique Pérez Díaz died on May 31, 1984.
