Takumi Suetsugu (b. 21 March 1969, Sasebo, Japan) is an American guitar technician and backline crew member, active since 1987 and primarily known for working with Prince and many other prominent acts and musicians, including Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, AC/DC, Nickelback, Gavin Rossdale and Bush, Roger Waters, Steel Prophet, and The Offspring. Throughout his extensive collaboration with Prince, Takumi served as a guitar & bass technician on One Nite Alone… worldwide tour in 2002. He was on the crew of Beautiful Strange TV special aired on Channel 4 in October 1998 and later was a technician on N·E·W·S album, recorded in one day and released by NPG Records in July 2003. He also participated in the Musicology Live 2004ever US tour, earning "Special Thanks" credit on The Art of Musicology TV special, broadcasted by MTV and Viacom network in April 2004 to promote the concerts. Takumi was present during the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in March 2004, catching Prince's guitar after his iconic solo and handing it over to Oprah Winfrey; he later confirmed that Prince didn't reveal his solo during the rehearsal, only playing it for the first time in front of a live audience.
