George W. George

George W. George (8 February 1920, Manhattan, New York City — 7 November 2007, Manhattan) was an American screenwriter and theater/film/Broadway producer. Son of cartoonist Rube Goldberg (1883—1970), George changed his last name at his father's insistence to avoid antisemitism. He extensively collaborated with Frank Granat (1929—2017); they produced and managed several Broadway musicals and Hollywood movies together, such as Ben Franklin in Paris (1964), Guy Green's romantic comedy Pretty Polly (1967), and Twisted Nerve (1968) thriller directed by Roy Boulting of The Boulting Brothers.
