Igor Aleksandrovich Moiseev (January 21, 1906 , Kiev - November 2, 2007 , Moscow) - Soviet and Russian ballet dancer , dancer, choreographer, choreographer, teacher, public figure. Hero of Socialist Labor (1976), People's Artist of the USSR (1953), laureate of three Stalin (1942, 1947, 1952), Lenin (1967), State Prize of the USSR (1985) and State Prize of the Russian Federation (1996). Cavalier of threeorders of Lenin (1958, 1976, 1986). In 1937, with the support of Vyacheslav Molotov , chairman of the Council of People's Commissars , he created the country's first professional folk dance ensemble (now the Igor Moiseyev Dance Ensemble ). The first rehearsal of the new ensemble took place on February 10, 1937. Since that time, he has been the permanent artistic director and dance director of the ensemble. Together with the ensemble, he continuously toured the USSR (since 1938) and abroad (since 1945).
