Finnish-Candian drummer (July 8, 1946, in Finland — November 7, 2017, in Innisfil, Canada), also known as "Whitey," is best known for his work with Lou Reed and Alice Cooper (2) in the 1970s. In the 1960s, he began his career in the Toronto music scene with The Rogues, who later became Mandala (11). In 1971, he formed Bush (7) with Mandala bandmates Domenic Troiano, Roy Kenner, and Hugh Sullivan. They released a self-titled album and toured with Steppenwolf, breaking up shortly thereafter. After that he became a session drummer playing with Steppenwolf’s John Kay, Lou Reed, and Alice Cooper (2). He also appeared in the Bette Midler movie The Rose as the drummer in The Rose Band.
