Engineer and producer, born 1957, with a background in theatre, studio, live sound, television, remote recording and an audio project consultant around the world. Jeremy Darby started as a sound engineer in the 1970s in a small recording studio in Herne Bay, near Canterbury, UK, where he recorded a lot of the local prog and jazz groups. Later he assisted at Chalk Farm studios, did some time in London at Oxford Circus and in the Manor Studios in Oxfordshire. He first came to America to do the live sound on tour with the group Squeeze in 1981 and he subsequently was hired as assistant for the company Remote Recording Services doing live sound for famous acts like Eric Clapton, Prince, Live Aid, Pink Floyd, The Grammys, etc. He became the permanent sound engineer for Lou Reed from 1988 to 2006. In the 1990s he had a studio in Nashville. He moved to Canada in 1995 and opened a small studio in the East End of Toronto. Today he his the director of The Canterbury Music Company in Toronto.
