Minneapolis, Minnesota A rock band from Minneapolis. Matt Wilson, John Munson, Steve Roehm, Dave Salmela, Jacques Wait, Richard Medek We use the word rock loosely, as a descriptor for something that is definitely not anything but rock, but a type of rock that is thoughtful, sometimes introspective, sometimes full of rejoicing. We are grateful for the continued opportunity to rock. Matt Wilson and John Munson have been playing music together off and on for about twenty years. They started tasted some success with their psychedelic, and flowery pop band Trip Shakespeare, which also featured Matt's brother Dan (who went on to form Semisonic with John, charting a hit with the song "Closing Time") and Elaine Harris. During the most of the nineties they tried to stay out of one another's hair but then as the decade came to a close they formed up again as The Flops, a folk duo which led them to realize that volume was their friend and they should start a rock band again: thus, The Twilight Hours. The band features wonderful musicians, Jacques Wait and Steve Roehm on guitars, David Salmela on piano, and Richard Medek on drums. Together the guys produce a sinuous groove, over which Matt sings his melodious poetry. Don't take too much from the name, The Twilight Hours. These guys are fully capable of rocking your face off and nowhere near their personal twilight. They just like the mystery of that crepuscular moment, when the world hovers between day and night, wakefulness and dreams.
